Caleb was so excited that today was his Birthday!! But he was quickly dissapointed when he learned that he was not having another party today. Since we had his party on Saturday, he had automatically linked that his Birthday meant party. Poor kid! We still managed to have a fun day though. Our morning started out with Birthday pancakes. Half of our pancakes were chocolate chip and the other were rainbow sprinkles- yum! We played at home this morning then we picked Daddy up at work and went to Zaxby's for lunch per Caleb's request. After we dropped Daddy back off at work, we headed to Publix to pick out a small Birthday cake for tonight. When we were checking out, Caleb was so proud of his cake and he told both the cashier and the bagging lady that this was HIS Birthday cake. The lady that was bagging our groceries was so so sweet to him and she rushed off to make him a balloon. He picked yellow, of course! After that, we headed home where both kids took great naps- yay! When Caleb got up from nap, he wanted to snuggle and read books so we did that for about 15ish minutes until Daddy got home. When Daddy got home, he was so excited to show Daddy the Birthday cake we had bought. So we lit it up and he made a wish. Then we did it again, ha! He loves blowing out candles :) We had small pieces of cake for a snack before opening gifts. Mommy and Daddy had saved their gifts for Caleb until today. We got him a case for his new Innotab and a new game. The Fresh Beat Band DVD, a net with fish for the bath or pool, and a Red Rover game that is really cute. He was SO excited when he opened the Fresh Beat DVD...I wish I had his reaction on video! It then took us a while to convince him to leave the house but he agreed once he realized he could watch his new DVD in the car. We headed out to Target to get a few things- mainly more AA batteries for all of his new toys!! And lastly, Caleb chose to eat at Phil Sandavol's Mexican for dinner and it was yummu :) I hope he had a great day!! Mommy had hoped to do more with him today like take a trip to the Botanical Gardens or something, but she ended up getting the cold that the kids had earlier in the week and just didn't have the energy...I owe you one, Buddy!

Big helper.
YUM!! Maybe a new Birthday tradition :)
When Mommy was feeding Kailyn her breakfast, Caleb went upstairs and came down saying he had his clothes ready for today. This is what he picked out...is this what having a 3 year old is going to be like? He was so proud of himself for picking out his own clothes. Yikes!
Adding THREE candles!
Happy Birthday to you!!
Happy Birthday to you!!
Happy Birthday, dear Caleb...Happy Birthday to youuuuu!!!
Make a wish...I hope they all come true :)
Yum!!
Time for presents!!!!
Finishing off our day with a yummy dinner at Phil's!
I truly can't believe that I have a three year old! It sounds so old, I still think of him as my baby boy...I guess I always will. Caleb has grown and changed so much in the past three years and he has added more joy into our lives than I could ever imagine. Yes, some days might be challenging with meltdowns or messes, etc., but you know what? I don't think I would trade it for the world. One of these days, I will miss hearing, "Mommy? Mommy! Watch this, you're not watching me!!"
Caleb is such a sweet kid, he is constantly giving us hugs and kisses and especially loves to give them to Kailyn. I have not even had to enforce that he says "Thank You" after being given something. We are working on saying, "No Thank You" instead of "NO" or "nope" though! One of the funniest things he does right now is he thinks that today means right now, so he will ask for something and if you say yes, but later- he will say, "No, today!" Ha!! He is also funny when he talks about something from the past and he will say, "Yesterday we..." Too cute. He really is all about talking right now, it is funny that for so many months we worked so dilligently with him to get him to talk and now there is no stopping it. At bedtime we read a book, say our prayers, sing a song, and then he will say, "Stay and talk for a little while." It has become one of my favorite parts of the day- such a sweet special time with my boy. He is also getting so confident in his body and is climbing, running, jumping...pretty much 100% a little boy! He really loves music, reading, and arts and crafts. His favorite show to watch on TV is The Fresh Beat Band and we have to watch them every. single. day. Hopefully he switches to a new favorite soon! Some of his favorite toys are his golf clubs, Woody from Toy Story, fire truck, trains, and his grill with pretend food. He is also a realllly big helper and if Mommy would let him, he would help me with every single task around the house. He still sleeps with his blanket- boy does he love his blanket! Maybe by the time he is four, blanket will dissapear?! Caleb also just truly adores all of his friends and family, he is such a loving kid. He gets so excited to see any of his grandparents. He also loves Tuesday nights when we have small group and we get together with our friends. He is in the big 3 year old room now at Mother's Day Out and should move up to the 3 year old room at Sunday School too!! I can't believe he will not be in the Nursery anymore. These past 3 years have gone by so so quickly and everyday I try to cherish the moments with him because I know that too soon he will be a teenager and want nothing to do with me.
Happy Birthday, Caleb! Thank you for being such a wonderful son. I don't want you to grow up, but I know you will. But I do look forward to seeing the person you turn into. I hope you love God with all of your heart and know how much he loves you too. I hope that you are always kind to your friends. I hope that one day you fall head over heels in love with a girl and live happily ever after. I hope that you get to experience becoming a parent and know the love that I have for you- it is life changing!!

Third Birthday!
The Gilmore household is full of germs today and Caleb had to stay home from school! Caleb started acting strange on Sunday morning, he was very tired after waking up and fell asleep in the bed with us instead of begging to watch Fresh Beats on TV. So we decided to play it safe and stay home from Church...but he ended up acting pretty good and we assumed he was just exhausted from all of the Birthday fun. On Monday he was ok in the morning but then had a fever in the afternoon, got up several times on Monday night and we ended up giving him some Tylenol for the fever. On Tuesday, the fever persisted and so did a cough so we also added the humidifier to his room. Kailyn's nose started to run just a little on Tuesday and she acted pretty fussy. By Tuesday evening, Kailyn was feeling pretty yucky. Her sinus drainage was horrible and she could not get to sleep good that night. Now, Caleb is much better and has been fever free all morning. Kailyn is struggling again with sleep because of the drainage...which makes for a long, hard day. But she is fever free too. Praying they both feel better soon and that Mommy and Daddy don't catch these germs.

That's right, Caleb had a big THIRD Birthday party this weekend!! It was at The Little Gym and we are so glad we chose to host there. The staff was amazing- they would not let us lift a finger. They set up all of the food, served it, and cleaned it up. They lead the class, helped the kids play, helped with Caleb opening gifts, and even took notes of who got him what gift! Mommy was not even tired after the party- we might be repeats again next year :)
Everyone had a great time playing at the gym. Caleb requested to play with balls, they blew up the jumper, climbed and crawled over lots of things, played with shakers and music sticks, had a parachute activity, and even blew some bubbles. It was nice because there was a range of ages in the children from about 1 year old to 5 years old, so there was something for them all to do and plenty of space for them all to explore. Caleb had lots of friends show up to play too! All of the grandparents came and enjoyed watching him play and have a good time. Uncle Josh, Aunt Jessica, and Addison came, which Caleb was so excited about. We haven't seen Addison in several weeks, so they were wound up as soon as they saw each other! Everyone from our small group came: Jordan, Jayden, and Caitlin, Bella and Juliet, and Lilly Kay. From our Sunday School class: Jasper and Jude, Hayden and Alex. Noah was in Caleb's 2 year old class last year. Then from his class this year: Addison and Owen, Harrison, and Kynsleigh. Aunt Kacie brought Rylann and Finlee went out of town with her grandmother and had to miss, but we went her home a goody box of yummy candy. Also, Mommy's good friend, Eleanor brought her little boy, Will and we were excited to see them. We all got the chance to go swimming together earlier in the summer, so it was nice to catch up, even if it was briefly! There were others who could not make it and we missed them, but completely understand being busy!!
After play time, it was time to eat!! Caleb enjoyed sharing all of his favorites with his friends: cake, ice cream, fruit and dip, green dot chips (sour cream and onion), and chex mix. Next it was time to open gifts and Caleb got lots of new fun things to play with- lets just say he got very spoiled by all of his wonderful friends! And lastly, on the way out, Mommy set up a candy train so everyone could make a goody bag on the way out. The train held gummy life savers, sweetarts, skittles, and reese cups- yum :)
Here are just a few pictures from the party...Mommy only took 150 total :)
After Caleb's party at The Little Gym with all of his friends, we had an after party at the house with family. Everyone enjoyed Mellow Mushroom pizza for dinner along with salad, fruit, and of course, cake. We asked them to save their gifts for Caleb and do them at the house, which worked out great. It was just a tad chaotic at the party so it was nice for him to get these gifts at home and actually remember who got him what. Plus this gave the grandparents more one on one time with the Birthday boy. We enjoyed having everyone over and visiting for a while, but it was quickly getting late and bath time was creeping around the corner. We had a great day though!!!
