January 2014

Happy New Year!! (only 2 months late..haha!!)
Anywaaaays.... I started out 2014 with a wisdom tooth removal. Oh yea, super fun New Year's Eve party at our house...kids at the grandparents, me drooling and sleeping, and Jeremy got to play video games and watch guy movies. I was glad to have that over with!
It seems like this has been one of the worst winters I can remember. One week the lows at night were in the single digits and highs during the days were below 20 or so. Well, you guessed it- we had a pipe bust. It ended up being underneath our driveway. Thankfully the plumber knew a leak detector guy that came and found the exact location of the leak so we only had them cut out a 2ftx2ft square vs tearing up our entire driveway! Now it is March and we are still waiting on a concrete person to actually call us back to fix the darn thing!! But the plumber got right in there and fixed the pipe, no problem.
Other than those two not so fun parts of January, not much else went on for The Gilmore's. We made a weekend trip to Guntersville for Grandmama's Birthday. It is always fun to get together with everyone and play, especially when we have cabin fever and are tired of playing at our own house!! We all went out to lunch at their local Japanese restaurant and it was sooo yummy. Neither Caleb or Kailyn appreciated the fire part and Caleb even said that, "he did not want to eat there ever again." I must have been feeling creative that week because I made her cake and a wreath for her front door!
The kids have been troopers with cabin fever though. I think Mommy is the only one that is having issues with it! We have had lots of pajama days!!! One morning we even had a light dusting of snow to admire before breakfast.
Our sweet niece, Addison spent a few days in the hospital for a bladder infection. We hated to see her go through all of that, but she did great! Now she likes to play doctor and hospital a lot!
And lastly, Kailyn had her very first Dentist appointment. I was a little nervous because she usually doesn't like to be poked and prodded but she did awesome! The hygienist was great with her but then when the (male) doctor came for the final exam, she lost it...super nice guy, but I think she actually preferred the female hygienist. We had to hold her down for him to check out her teeth, but once it was over, she was completely fine. Caleb did great too, he is an old pro at the Dentist!
