A few weeks ago, we were supposed to go to the River for the weekend but the temperature was in the 30's at night so we thought it would just be too cold to be outside all weekend and sleeping in a camper with a space heater. We were sad to miss Pop's Birthday weekend but he still had a great one! Since we stayed home unplanned, we had to come up with something to do...you know us- go, go, go! We decided to head down to Birmingham for a Zoo day. We got there at 10am and the sun was shining so the temperature outside warmed up quickly and was in the 60's for the day! We wore jackets for the first 30 minutes or so and after that it was very pleasant outside. The kids had a blast watching all of the animals. Kailyn kept making elephant sounds all day! Caleb really enjoyed the train ride, feeding the Giraffes, and being our map guide. Of course, we skipped naps this day and they were worn out by the time we left and they both took naps on the ride back home- yay!
