How is big brother doing?
Caleb is doing great these days! We still haven't had any major issues with him adjusting to Kailyn. We try really hard to give him lots of attention and go on special outings just for him. He also has to give "baby sister" a hug and kiss every night before he goes to bed- it is really sweet.
We are proud to announce that Caleb has finally grown out of 12 month clothes and is not wearing 18-24 month or 24 month clothes. THere are a few 2T things that he wears, but they are still kind of baggy. Shorts are the main problem because he is short and has a tiny waist, some of the ones he is wearing are only an 18 month. The last time he got on our bathroom scale, he weighed 25 pounds.
Caleb is a funny kid. I know every parent thinks that their kid is the funniest, cutest, etc. that they have ever seen. But seriously, Caleb keeps us laughing every day. Here are a few things that we have remembered to write down lately that he has said:
Monday, April 2
In Target, Caleb was saying, “Thank you God…for Baby Jesus!! Thank you God…for Baby Jesus!!” He put his hands together like he was praying for the thank you God part.

In Wal-Mart, he was ready to go home and I told him we were almost finished, we just needed to find the bananas. So he starts yelling, “Bananas, bananas, where are you? Bananas….Mommy, I think they are up there!”
Week of April 21, 2012
“huh” For a week he replied “huh” to almost half of the sentences that came his way. Mommy and daddy realized it and looked at each other wandering where this word came from. Minutes later daddy realized it after he replied “huh” to Caleb when he didn’t understand him.

Caleb got a blister on his foot from wearing Crocs at the circus and walking a lot the day before. Sunday morning he was told he would have to wear socks and shoes instead of crocs,,, and he said, “I want to show my boo boo to my friends at church.”

Mommy does not scream at Caleb, but when he is in trouble, she raises her voice just a litte and uses a sterner tone of voice. Well, Caleb knows what that voice means and has started replying, "Mommy, that is too loud!"

Caleb has started taking advantage of Mommy needing to take care of Kailyn some. When Mommy has to feed Kailyn or something else where she can't play with Caleb, he goes and plays very well by himself. BUT he destroys the downstairs, scattering toys from one end to the other. So, Mommy finally was tired of spending 20 minutes picking up toys during nap time. She told Caleb that if he made the mess, he had to help clean it up. After about 3 minutes of picking up toys, Caleb said, "Mommy I am tired of clean up toys...eat lunch now!" But Mommy was good and kept encouraging him while helping him clean up and the downstairs was cleaned before lunch!
And I am sure there are a million funnier things he has said or done, but these are the only ones we have written down and/or remember!! Caleb brightens up our world everyday and we are so thankful to have him in our lives.
Caleb also loves to play. The kid knows how to play toys. He also really enjoys arts and crafts and music time...they do a lot of that at school and we try to do some at home too. At home he really enjoys playing with paint, stamps, play dough, and stickers. He is a little ball of energy! Caleb wakes up in the mornings ready to go, has to be talked into taking a nap- but then sleeps really well most days, and gets up ready to play all afternoon. Then he has to be talked into taking a bath at night because he knows that it leads to bed time. Caleb also loves to talk and talk and talk...about everything and anything. He has an amazing memory and will just start talking about random things that we did up to a year ago. We think one of his best memories is going to the beach last Labor Day with Jeremy's parents- he talks about that a lot. He loves anything transportation: trains, planes, cars, trucks, etc. Some of his favorite foods right now are: pizza, peanut butter and jelly, grilled cheese, cheese quesadilla and cheese dip, chips with the green dots (Sour Cream and Onion), and most of all...fruit snacks. Most mornings Caleb is really predictable- he eats either a waffle or a breakfast bar every morning, by request. He drinks tons of milk, he loves it. And he has recently loved drinking water. You can't tell Caleb something and not mean it. If you tell him he can have something or we are going to go do something- he remembers and sticks you to it!! One of the things he does that melts Mommy's heart is coming up to her, hugging her legs and saying, "I Love You, Mommy!!" Makes. Me. Melt. He also really likes to snuggle at bedtime and talk about his day, it has become one of Mommy's favorite times of the day. It is hard to believe that he will be 3 in less than 4 months...
Oh and he loves to read books!! YAY! Mommy and Daddy both like reading a lot too :)
