Learning to Swim
Caleb started swimming lessons on May 8, 2012 at our local YMCA. Although he will not learn to swim by himself this year because of his age, we still wanted to reintroduce him to the water and get ready for lots of swimming this summer. The first lesson, Daddy swam with him. All of the other days, Caleb has insisted on Mommy swimming....thus no pictures except for the first day with Daddy! Oh well.
Caleb is doing really well so far with lessons. He can put his face in the water and blow bubbles, kick his legs, make "scoops" with his hands and do the arm movements, jump in from standing, dive in from sitting, and balance on the boogie board. The only skill he doesn't like practicing is floating on his back, he hates it!! When he jumps into the water, Mommy has been letting him go under as she catches him. The other day, when he came up, he said, "That hurt my boogers, Mommy!" And I assumed he got a little water up his nose. The things kids say- he is always making us laugh :)
Here are a few pictures from the first day swimming with Daddy:
