Daddy turned 28 last week! Yes, he is getting really close to 30, wow. He had worked over some at work, so he was able to take 1/2 day off work to go to the golf range and to the gym before coming home. Meanwhile, Mommy and Caleb made him a yummy Birthday cake- complete with chocolate sprinkles picked by Caleb. Once Daddy got home, we sang "Happy Birthday" and had a small piece of cake for snack. For dinner, Mommy and the kids took Daddy to his favorite restaurant- Phil's Mexican, it is soo tasty :) They have the best cheese dip in town! It was a simple, relaxed Birthday, just like Daddy wanted. The kids made him a special golf card and since he said he didn't want any presents, we didn't get him any. Later on that weekend, we did go get Daddy TWO new pairs of tennis shoes, so don't feel too bad for him, ha!
Caleb wanted to do the candles by himself...
Ta Da!! So pretty.
Since it was Daddy's Birthday, Mommy had Kailyn all dressed up in a pretty, pink, smocked outfit. Then Mommy made the mistake of leaving Daddy to watch her while she got the diaper bag ready to go out to eat...and came back to Kailyn wearing at home/play clothes. He said, "Well it is my Birthday and this is cute...the other outfit was ugly!" Oh well...Mommy did let this one slide since it was Daddy's Birthday. BUT we sat outside at Phil's to eat dinner, so she did rub it in just a little bit that the outfit Daddy chose was too hot for her. :)
Then the boys ran upstairs to get a hairbow for Kailyn (which did not match).
Eating dinner...
One of Caleb's favorite parts of eating at Phil's is that he gets a balloon if he eats big :)
We have been loving our playdates with Church friends lately! Most of the mom's in our group stay home, so it is easy to all get together to play for a little while. Caleb gets so excited when he sees his friends, it's adorable.
On July 13, 2012 we had a playdate at a friend's house and we had a crew of kids! There were so many that we had to put a few on the top of the couch, ha! It was tons of fun and Caleb even fell asleep on the way home that day.
On July 18, 2012 we headed to Bridgestreet for on of their free summer movies! The movie that day was, "Horton Hears a Who" and it was so cute. Caleb had a bit of a tough time since the theater seats still fold up on him a little! He basically stood up for the entire movie because Mommy had Kailyn and she slept in Mommy's arms the second half of the movie. Mommy promised him popcorn and he was so good! He did get a little antsy and went to chat with a few friends (we all sat on the same row), but he watched the movie and said afterwards that he had fun. Mommy is still shocked that she took 2 kids to the theater by herself- go Mom!! :)
After the movie, the kids enjoyed playing by the fountain while the Mommies got to chat for a few minutes!
I feel so honored to call Ashley and Rachel my good friends, they are both in our small group and I love hanging out with them every week! :)

Last Saturday we went to Miss Finlee's Birthday party. Mommy and Aunt Kacie are best friends and we hope that our kids continue to love each other and stay close too. Mommy always loves an excuse to see this special family, so it was a no brainer that we would be going to celebrate Finlee turning five. Mommy is starting to feel old since she still remembers Finlee just being born right before Mommy and Daddy moved to Georgia for a year! Nonetheless, she has grown to be quite a special little girl and holds a very precious spot in Mommy's heart :) She is going to be one incredible Kindergardener this fall!!!
Aunt Kacie did an amazing job with Fin's party- Rainbow theme. It was a lot of fun, but I know she put tons of work into making it a special day for Finlee. They hosted the party at their house and rented a jumper for the kids in the backyard. Tons of fun!
Jumping time!!
Happy Birthday to YOU!!!
Daddy and Kailyn during the party.
Caleb loved the rainbow cake, he said the yellow was his favorite, hehe!
Kailyn borrowed Rylann's ball.
Kailyn enjoying the party.
These two will be best friends one day, just like their Mommies are :)
Playing with Kailyn.
Thanks for letting us join in your special day, Finlee, it was a fantastic party. :)
Why does time pass us by so quickly? I still don't know how we are already into Kailyn's 5th month of life, but we are! And she is really starting to develop and do lots of new things. The past few weeks have been so much fun.
July 10, 2012
Kailyn had just turned 5 months old and had been eating cereal and oatmeal for the past month. Time to try baby food! Gran Gran had come over for dinner and wanted to do the honors. She had Sweet Potatoes and Corn...and ate it all up. Now, we still have to watch her schedule and not wait until she is starving to do the baby food, but other than that, she eats great every time.
YUM!!!

All of the sudden, Kailyn was ready to start practicing sitting up. Mommy let her use the Boppy pillow for support while she played toys.
Big brother, Caleb thinks this new milestone is fantastic! He get so excited when it is time to play toys with her. He loves Kailyn so much and it makes Mommy so happy to see him interact with her and bring her toys.
This little girl just loves to play toys :)
And lounge sometimes too, of course!

The next morning, we were practicing sitting up again and she did not need any help!! Mommy did not know whether to laugh and praise her or cry because she looked so grown up sitting in the floor playing. She still needs someone right there with her, as she still wobbles a lot. But she can sit up for about 45 seconds to 1 minute before falling!
Earlier in the week, Kailyn found her toes. She loves to stick her legs straight up in the air and grab her toes, sort of like a toy that she can always find. It is pretty cute. This afternoon, she had woken up from her nap in the swing and started playing right away.
Caleb saw Mommy taking pictures and hurried over to his toy basket to grab his camera too!!
Yes, Tuesday was a BIG day, but it gets even better...Mommy decided since Kailyn was doing so well sitting up that morning, that she would let Kailyn test out sitting up in the shopping cart at Publix like a big girl. She was a pro!! She did get a little lazy towards the end and started leaning, so Mommy put her purse beside her and that helped give her a little more support. The days of Kailyn's pictures in the polka dot car seat might be ending because she loves being up and about!
