Day Five- No Mommies...Can They Survive?!
September 5, 2012
Since they guys got to get out and play golf the day before, Wednesday was girl's day out! We all got up and ate breakfast together, played with the kids a little, and made sure things were set out that Daddy would need. Then Mommy hurried to get ready and we all headed out to Destin, FL to shop :) Mommy's favorite hobby!! Once we got there, we decided to eat a light lunch at Panera then we were ready to shop the outlets. Grandmama had a different agenda than Mommy and Aunt Jessica, so she went on her own while Mommy and Aunt Jessica shopped. We had a blast shopping for the kids, Daddies, and even ourselves! Mommy was excited to get some new clothes for herself since she is down to her pre-pregnancy weight and feels confident buying clothes in the right size now- YAY! We ended up walking the entire outlets and by the time we made it to the end, we were starving!! As we looked at the time, we decided there was no way we would make it back to Pensacola to help the guys with bath/bed tiems, so we ventured out for dinner on the town. Mommy remembered that The Backporch in Destin was really good and it is right on the water, which got her vote. Neither Jessica or Grandmama could think of anywhere else to eat, so that's where we ended up. And it was delicious- I think Mommy's favorite dinner of the entire trip. After dinner, Mommy and Aunt Jessica were dissapointed that we hadn't found Caleb and Addison a surprise while shopping the outlets, so we stopped at one of the beach shops and bought kites to fly on the beach before heading back to our condo. It was a fun day, but Mommy did miss her babies.

Our view from the table, gorgeous!
Yummy! Lobster stuffed Tilapia and Twice Baked Potatoes. Mmmmm!!
Meanwhile, back in Pensacola, the Daddies and Grandad had everything under control! Kailyn was still feeling bad but starting to see signs of the antibiotics making their way through her system. They enjoyed a morning at the beach and pool, then everyone took good naps. After naptime, they headed over to the new ferris wheel in town. It is huge and the buckets are enclosed with benches on each side and it even had an air conditioner. They said that the kids loved it! Then they went across the street to Sidelines for a tasty dinner. Mommy was shocked that they even took pictures at the ferris wheel! Of course, some at the beach would have been awesome, but she is just proud they survived a day without her. And so so thankful for a little break :)
