The Sunday before Christmas we always go to Church with Grandmama and Grandaddy. I think they enjoy looking down the pew and seeing their whole family in Church together. Yes, I'm sure we would feel more "at home" and cozy at our own Church that we go to every week, but it really is a special memory for them and we enjoy it. We were even dressed just a few minutes early and were able to snap a family photo before we left. This ended up being our only family shot of the holidays, which is a little sad...but at least we got one!
After being at Grandmama and Grandaddy's house all weekend, the kids grew tired of just looking at the full tree and seeing gifts with their names on them. They eventually wore the grandparents down and talked them into opening gifts a day early!! I know they enjoyed seeing the kids play with their new toys the next day too. Now, we were all supposed to cut back this year for Christmas since we are all going to Disney in the Spring. I don't think anyone got the memo, haha!! We all got very spoiled! Caleb and Addison both got remote control airplanes from the movie, "Planes" while Kailyn got a Bitty Baby. I might have been a little more excited than her since American Girls hold a special place in my heart! Kailyn got really caught up in the action and wanted to play with Caleb and Addison's stuff mostly. But she has really enjoyed Bitty Baby since being home. And of course, the kids had more fun playing in the pile of wrapping paper hiding in it and jumping in it than anything...if only it was as fun to clean it all up. I think the biggest surprise went to Grandmama...Grandaddy got her a Kitchen Aid mixer and she had absolutely NO idea. Yay!! We even baked a Chocolate Mouse cake the next day to test it out. What a fun holiday season :)
