Caleb: Pizza Field Trip
April 3, 2014
Last week Caleb's class went on a fun field trip to Stevie B's Pizza Buffet. Luckily, I was able to chaperone again!! I'm not going to lie- I kind of love that a lot of the Mom's this year have smaller children and can't chaperone or have other things going on. I loooove going on his field trips! At first, I wasn't sure how fun of a trip this would be for the kids, but it ended up being great! When we got there, the kids all got a special hat to wear while they learned a little bit about the pizza making business.
Then they were able to go behind the scenes and check out the large fridge and learn about how they make the dough.
When the kids returned to their seats, they were able to play with some dough while the workers got their pizza bases ready.
Then they brought out a lot of different topping options for the kids and they went to town making pizza! Caleb chose sausage and peperoni, of course! He was so proud of his pizza.
While the pizzas cooked the kids got a little bored- it would have been nice for them to give the kids their game tokens at this point, but we improvised with potty breaks and they had cartoons on one of the TVs.
The kids were starving by the time the pizzas arrived and they dug right in. Each child had their very own small pizza and some of them maybe at half of it, so they were able to take them home, which was pretty cool.
After the kids ate lunch, it was game time! Keep in mind, it is a small game room with 2 classrooms of 4-5yr olds. Chaos! But it was fun chaos and the kids really enjoyed it. It was a bit confusing that the kids didn't get a chance to cash in their tickets for prizes- that is the whole point, right? Nonetheless, they had fun. Caleb's buddy, Jude, won 100 tickets on one game by hitting the jackpot, which was pretty exciting!
