Spring Break with Pops & Nanna
March 25-27, 2014
For weeks we had been planning on going up to Pops and Nanna's house during our Spring Break. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the worse and was not very spring-like. Thankfully, Pops is a pro at watching the weather and picked a great day to take us all to the Nashville Zoo! It was still cold but the sun was out and it wasn't windy at all, which helped. We all wore coats and some of us (me!) wore gloves when we got there, but as the morning went on the extra layers were all peeled off. We had such a fun day walking around the zoo and watching all of the animals. Some of the animals were put away because of the cold temperatures, but the only ones we really missed were the giraffes and a few of the monkeys. The Nashville Zoo has a special exhibit of dinosaurs right now that are real life size statues that move a tiny bit and make noise. One of them even spits water at you and Kailyn still talks about that dinosaur spitting on her nose! :) Caleb, my tender child who still doesn't do well with loud noises hated it. He was SO excited about it before we went into the exhibit because he has really started getting into dinosaurs lately. Once we walked in he started screaming with his hands over his ears, completely terrified!! Kailyn walk smiling and laughing- not at Caleb, but she just really enjoyed the dinosaurs. Somehow, we made it through, thanks to Pops being patient with Caleb and carrying him (quickly) through it! The funny thing is that now, after the fact, Caleb talks about it like it was fun and he liked it- crazy kid. We ended our day back in Pops and Nanna's town at their favorite Mexican restaurant for a yummy dinner with 2 worn out kiddos.
Thanks Pops and Nanna for a fun trip to the Zoo!!!
The next day we stayed until after lunch and we were able to enjoy warmer weather before heading home! The kids loved playing out in the country, riding 4 wheelers, and picking "flowers."
*I must add how special this Spring Break has been for the kids, especially Caleb. Both kids went to my Mom's (Gran Gran) the 1st weekend, then came home on Sunday and had Monday at home. Then Tuesday we headed to my Dad's (Pops & Nanna) and stayed until Thursday. On Friday, Daddy's parents (Grandmama & Grandaddy) called and wanted Caleb to come over for the weekend because they were getting Addison too. So off he went with only 1 full day at home in the whole 9 days of Spring Break. How fun is that? He visited all 3 grandparents' houses in a week!! Such lucky kids to have awesome grandparents. We are so thankful.
