A Picnic with a Splash!

April 10, 2013
What can I say? We loooove going to the Botanical Gardens! We have also been loving this warm spring weather. One of my new favorite things to do with the kids is to have a lunch picnic at the gardens. By the time we get loaded in the car and get over to there, the kids are starving so they will actually sit and eat a little before running around like I never let them outside. And now that it is warm outside, the kids can enjoy all of the fun water features the gardens have…lots of water fountains and splash areas to keep the kids cool in the hot summer months. I have a feeling we will be splashing here all summer long!

Mommy's A Little Older...

April 8, 2013
I have to say, I am one lucky girl. I have a pretty sweet husband who took the day off work just to make sure I had a special Birthday. I love Birthdays and love to make them a big deal…I mean you only have one day per year that you don’t have to share. Mother’s day, Anniversary, etc. are all holidays that you have to share with someone else. My Mom always made our Birthdays a big deal so I am doing the same! Thankfully Jeremy loves it too!!
So for my Birthday, we decided to head to Birmingham for the day and visit the Zoo. The kids had a blast! We had absolutely perfect weather and it wasn’t too crowded since it was a weekday. Kailyn was able to get a nap on the drive there and loved the Zoo just as much as Caleb did. Kailyn got to feed the giraffes, Caleb helped me feed the birds, and we all enjoyed a fun train ride! After the Zoo, we headed to one of Mommy’s favorites: The Summit. Kailyn fell asleep on the ride over, so Caleb took me shopping at Vera Bradley and bought me a new purse for my Birthday while Daddy snoozed in the car with Sissy. Then we all ate dinner out on the patio at the Cheesecake Factory…another one of Mommy’s favorites. Notice a theme here? We were all sooo tired, but had a wonderful family day together. It really was a very special day! I am so thankful to have such a sweet family….So how will Jeremy top this one next year?!!!

Easter 2013

March 30, 2013
Happy Easter!! He is risen- Hallelujah!!!
So remember that we had perfect spring weather on Saturday during our egg hunt at the gardens. Well, it did not continue into Easter Sunday. It rained a lot Saturday night and into Sunday morning so the Easter bunny was not able to hide all of the eggs outside at Great Grandmother’s as planned. The kids woke up with their baskets full of goodies waiting on them. Then everyone but Mommy and Kailyn headed to Church- it was her naptime and in order for her to make it through all of the Easter festivities, she HAD to nap!! After Church let out, Kailyn and Mommy met everyone else plus Great Grandmother and Gran Gran at the local Mexican restaurant for a yummy lunch. That’s when the great debate started…where should we hunt eggs? We decided that it would be too muddy to do it by the lake at Great Grandmother’s like we usually do. So we headed back to Grandmama and Grandad’s. The sun popped out while we were eating lunch, so we were able to do some eggs in the front flower beds, then lead the kids inside through the living room and kitchen then out onto the back deck. Let me tell you- there was no shortage of Easter eggs!! Even Kailyn got a full basket, sweet girl tried so hard to keep up with Addison and Caleb! All in all, we had another great Easter in Guntersville remembering what Jesus did for us so many many years ago.
