Kailyn- 11 Months

Kailyn is 11 months. 11 months old. My baby girl is almost ONE. Yes, that's right...it's 1st Birthday planning time- How did this happen so quickly?!!!

What is Kailyn up to right now? EVERYTHING! She is crawling everywhere, pulling up to stand on everything, pulling toys out of every basket, crawling up the stairs (can't keep her off of them), and even taking several steps at a time. We should have a full time walker here very soon! Kailyn loves to play now, she has lots of fun with toys...especially Caleb's. She loves her brother SO much and wants to be into anything he is into. Most of the time he loves it too- those two are so sweet together. Just this morning she was eating breakfast and I had to take Caleb potty so I took him to the bathroom and peeked my head out and she was standing in the high chair, one leg out of it and stradling the arm rest. I about had a heart attack! So now she gets buckled into her high chair. She is talking all kinds of jibber jabber, it is hillarious. She has been saying "Mama" very clearly for several months but just picked up "Dada" the past week or so. She also says "Baa" and I think she is meaning bite or eat. She definitely understands lots of words, which is neat. She absolutely loves bath time! When she hears the water start running, she makes a bee line for the tub and splashes at least half of the water out each night with a huge smile on her face. She hates being picked and proded- wiping her nose, cleaning her up after eating, and especially cutting her fingernails. She also really likes her shoe- who can blame her? Shoes are so fun!

Kailyn is our big eater! Most of the time she loves food and eats so well. And a lot of the time she out eats Caleb. Some of her favorites right now are the Gerber Cheese Puffs, crackers, fries, chicken, turkey, waffles, yogurt, vanilla waffers, graham crackers, and bread. Although she eats so much more! She also loves her juice/water cup with meals. We have one more month of bottles, so we will switch to lots of whole milk once she turns one. And let me tell you- this girl enjoys her food and she is the messiest eater I have ever seen. It is ridiculous! Jeremy and I race each other to do the dishes most nights because neither of us want the job of cleaning her up. Yes, she is that messy.

Kailyn has stayed steady with her size lately. She may have gotten a teeny bit taller and she has definitely slimmed up a little too. Kailyn is mostly wearing 12-18m clothes, 18m outfits fit her well but have growing room in them, 12m usually fit almost perfect. I have a feeling that she will be in 18m for a while. Remember, Caleb wore size 12m for what seemed like forever! I am curious to see how she will grow. But then there is the fact that winter clothes have to fit so-so. Pants have to hit her shoes in the right spot and long sleeves have to be just right too- I am picky about that. So I think summer sizes are going to be a little different because it is not going to matter as much where a dress or shorts hit her leg and the sleeves will be more forgiving too!

Kailyn has stayed pretty steady with her schedule for a while now. She is still taking 2 naps per day- one in the morning and one in the afternoon. She is sleeping ALL night now, I feel confident to say that now. Kailyn has gotten really attached to one little blanket for sleeping and we started putting 3 pacies in her crib with her so she could find one if she woke up looking. Something seemed to work...YAY! She is definitely another routine baby. She knows that when we go in her room and turn off the lights and turn on the sound machine that she is getting a bottle. I dred getting rid of those in a short month! That has to be one of my favorite times with her in the rocker giving her a bottle...such sweet, sweet snuggles.
