Last week, Daddy was upstairs playing with Kailyn while Mommy did a few things around the house. When she went up to check on them, she found Daddy having a fun, girly photo shoot with our girl! You see, when we take photos, Mommy tends to take over "her" camera and Daddy never gets a chance to play with it. They had fun and got a few cute shots. Check them out!! :)
What did you learn from all of this? Mommy takes better pictures!! Don't quit your day job, Daddy!! Haha! :)

Saturday after our fun morning at the Botanical Gardens, we headed to Rylann's FIRST Birthday party. Mommy cannot believe a year has already passed with this sweet girl in our lives. How is she already one? Rylann and Kailyn are only 3.5 months apart, so it really freaked me out to think that we will be celebrating Kailyn's first Bday before we know it. Kacie did an amazing job with the party. She kept it low key with family and close friends. The decorations and food were adorable, she is so creative and always throws the cutest parties. We had a great time watching Rylann smash into her cake and visiting with everyone. Our visits with the Kirkland's always seem to go by too quick! Happy Birthday, sweet Rylann! I can't wait to watch you grow this next year into a toddler and (in many, many years) a young woman, I know that you are going to be so sweet and special and I hope that you learn to love God as much as your parents do. I hope that you always know how much they love you, you have 2 pretty awesome parents little lady! Your Mommy is my Bestest Friend and I hope that you and Kailyn are super close in the years to come.
Best Friends!
This was our "reality" shot of the day. Rylann wanted her sippy cup back and Kailyn wanted her pacie!!
Patiently waiting...
Dig in!!!

We finally had an "at home" weekend!!! Do I sound excited? Why yes, I was! These days we are staying so busy, it was nice to play at home some and get out and enjoy some of our favorite activities. As you know, we love going to the Botanical Gardens. They were having a special Halloween party for the kids, so we decided to stop by for lunch and check it out. We had plans later that afternoon to attend a Birthday party, so we did not dress in Halloween costumes or clothes. And I am SO glad we didn't, because I am in looooove with the pictures I got this trip :)
Kailyn enjoyed cruising in the stroller.
There were some fun arts and crafts to do.
They had a few special reptile visitors and we checked them out!
I got some amazing shots of Kailyn!!
And a few pretty cute ones of them together. They really do adore one another!
This handsome boy is SO hard to photograph, so I was estatic when I saw how cute these were!!
Watching for turtles with Daddy.
Caleb loves to ring the "ding bells" every time we go.
Yes, Caleb is a child of habit...he thrives on a routine, so when we go places (like the Gardens) frequently, he has certain places he HAS to visit. The train is one of them. He loves it!

Last Tuesday, Kailyn slept in a little later than she usually does, which pushed her morning nap a little later. She did not fall asleep in the car on the way to or from school (like she always does lately), so Mommy decided that we would just come home to play and nap while Caleb was at school. It was SO nice! Mommy had some quailty play time with Kailyn, which was tons of fun. We even had a little photo shoot. Then she took a great nap where Mommy was able to do a few extra chores and relax a little before Kailyn woke up. Then we had a quick lunch and before we knew it, it was time to head back to Church to pick Caleb up. It seems like every Tues/Thur, there are at least 2 errands to do each day, which means that we might as well stay out for the entire school time. Since Kailyn usually falls asleep in the car, Mommy ends up parking at our first errand for about 20ish minutes to let her get a good nap. Then we run around and when Kailyn gets hungry, we eat lunch. Then we go get Caleb. But this particular Tuesday was so nice to enjoy each other and take an easier pace. Here is to more Mother's Days IN!!!

Last Monday, Gran Gran had a doctor's appointment in Birmingham and wanted us to tag along. We were there for FOUR hours, the kids were tired, hungry, and just tired of being there. They were troopers though. So since we were already in Birmingham, we decided to swing by the Zoo to let Caleb run off some energy before heading back home. It was a great decision! We only had 2 hours to roam around before they closed, but it ended up being just enough time to do all of our favorite things: ride the train, see the giraffes, elephants, monkeys, zebras, and lions.
