Gone Camping!
September 28-29, 2012
Once we decided that we would spend a weekend in Guntersville a few weeks ago, we checked the forecast and saw that we were going to have nice weather. We quickly got to thinking and decided that it may be one of the last weekends with warm-sih night temperatures. We have been talking about taking Caleb camping for a while now, but it had just been too hot out, but now it was perfect camping weather!! Mommy spent all day Friday packing us up, checking her lists, and preparing for a camping adventure. Once Daddy got home from work, we loaded the car and were on our way. Grandad and Grandmama went ahead and picked out our spot before we got there. Uncle Josh and Addison had already arrived too. Once we got to the lake, we unloaded the car while Caleb and Addison ran around the grounds like they had never been let outside before. They were SO excited. And of course, they found every spec of dirt that was there!! We got the tents put up in no time and got all of our beds together and pjs set out before it got dark. Grandad made us a great campfire to roast hot dogs for dinner and marshmallows for dessert! After eating, the kids started getting tired, so we all called it a night. Both kids passed out and slept great. Mommy and Daddy both forgot to pack their pillows, so sleep was just okay for us. We did hear a pack of Coyotes howling in the night, which was creepy to Mommy. All of the guys thought it was cool. The kids slept great, I think Kailyn woke up once and needed her pacie then she slept later than everyone Saturday morning. On Saturday morning, we woke up and the kids hit the ground running. They were quickly back into the dirt and mud, fishing at the water's edge, and filthy- but they had a blast. After enjoying some donuts and cinnamon rolls for breakfast, we changed clothes and unpacked the tent. Once the car was loaded, we headed out to go for a hike at the State Park to finish off our camping adventure. Mommy was very impressed that the night went so well, that was her biggest worry. It was fun....but Mommy was soooo glad to take a shower once we made it back to Grandmama and Grandad's house!
Kailyn played with Grandmama while we set up camp.
Dirt, water, and sticks- what else could a boy want?
Caleb and Addison had so much fun together!
Setting up camp as the sun was setting down.
Caleb really enjoyed digging up the muddy sea shells in the lake. He didn't get dirty at all :)
Our campfire!
Kailyn was having so much fun too!
We couldn't keep Caleb still long enough for a picture, but Kailyn was all smiles!
They played in the water until it was time to eat.
Time to roast hot dogs.

Like the energizer bunnies...they just kept going and going!
All of the kids love thier Grandad!!
Our tent for the night. Cozy :)
Good morning!!
Caleb woke up asking for his fishing pole, so they started out the morning casting their rods.
They even found a pole for Grandmama to fish with- so sweet!
Good morning, sweet girl! We love seeing this sweet face every morning.
Can you tell that these two are best friends?
Caleb and Addison finished off our morning camping by feeding the ducks some of our left overs- Donuts, Marshmallows, and Hot Dog Buns.
Kailyn was ready to go hiking in the Baby Bjorn!
Caleb started collecting things right away.
Mommy and her boy!
Caleb enjoyed walking through the woods and exploring.
